  • India need to play more spinners

    0

Looking at the way thing have gone in the Cricket World Cup so far, it looks like the strategy set by the teams looks almost set.

For one, the teams have decided to start slowly. Take it over by over to begin with before getting to accelerate.

And the second tactic is to get the spinners early, if not get them to open the bowling. The biggest surprise was always South Africa’s decision to go ahead with three frontline spinners in the game against West Indies.

It is clear that India’s strategy to go in with three medium pace bowlers was a shocker. They should have, and should still, for the rest of the games, go in with at least two frontline spin bowlers and the rest of the spinners in the form of the part-timers.

One can be rest assured that the side will take in the second spinner in the next game against England. the question, though is, whether England will play a second one?
