Even the worst of the Sachin Tendulkar critic will agree that the 2009-10 season was one of the better ones for the maestro. What most fans would know is that the season was great in many ways for India and Tendulkar was at the forefront of the resurrection.
However, what worries me now is that the things are fast moving into that mode where the dependence on Tendulkar for winning the matches is increasing. Gautam Gambhir has lost his form in recent times and ever since his IPL outbursts, he has remained more and more injured.
Sehwag is obviously there but with the middle-order performing only if they have had a good start, life will definitely become difficult if and when Tendulkar decides to retire from the game. And that cannot be too far away given that the 2011 edition of the World Cup is what Tendulkar had said would he had looked at.
The question then is, if Tendulkar is in good form, will he want to end his career immediately after the World Cup 2011? What do you think?
